Former Member of the Lower Chamber of National
Assembly from kabba/Bunu/Ijumu federal constituency in kogi state,
Honourable Dino Melaye has called on President Goodluck Jonathan to sack
the Petroleum Minister, Mrs Allison Madueke from office in order to add
credibility to his resolve to sanitise petroleum industry in the
country.
Hon. Melaye stated this in a personal letter addressed to the presidency, which copies were on friday made available to journalists in Lokoja, the state capital.
He averred that several reports on fuel scam had held the management of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company, NNPC and Minister responsible for the overwhelming corruption in oil sector since 2010 that the minister assumed duty.
The radical former legislator said the president should endeavour to act on his ‘no sacred cows’ in the fuel subsidy, adding that since the minister has refused to resign honourably, she should be given General Azazi’s treatment.
“A fish starts to rot from the head, so the minister can not be spared while others are sacked, Something immediate should be done to save the petroleum Industry.” he stated.
