LAGOS DEMOLITION WAR: Fashola, We Will Sleep In Your House - Makoko People

As thousands of policemen deploy around the Makoko community waterfront this morning to engage in further demolition of homes of some 70,000 urban poor in the historic community, the entire community of Makoko are also planning to invade the Lagos state government House at Alausa in Ikeja Lagos.
Several local chiefs in the community, youths, elders, market women both on water and on land have united to engage in mass protest this Monday.
SaharaReporters have learned that the 12 residents arrested after a policeman murdered the assistant Baale in the community, Timothy Azinpono, had been released late last night, and the killer police officer is reportedly under arrest.
The Ilajes and Eguns within the community have set aside their differences to draw up massive turnout for the protest.
